Team Redstone

Team Redstone, an elite team of students, attracting attention of top employers.

Team wins again at the Aerospace Maintenance Competition

Every year Redstone College students train intensely for hours after school and on weekends to prepare for the annual Aerospace Maintenance Competition. The competition gives teams of licensed aviation maintenance technicians, aviation maintenance engineers, international military personnel, and qualified aviation maintenance students the chance to test their skills. 16 challenges, each 20 minutes long, in areas such as avionics, jet engine troubleshooting, hydraulics or cockpit window sealing have to be completed.

For the fourth time in a row, Team Redstone won the event in 2014. They finished first in the school category and fifth overall. Ken MacTiernan, chairman of the Aerospace Maintenance Competition commented: “Team Redstone continuously raises the bar of competition, not only in the school category, but also with the seasoned industry veterans. Redstone is known throughout the competition for their professionalism, expert skills and incredible attention to detail. They are seen by school and professional teams as top contenders.”
